PDS450-10 Power Distribution Switch
The REO Model PDS450-10 Power Distribution Switch turns an REO model CD225-2J, CD450-4J or CD450-22J Blasting Machine into a more versatile unit. The power distribution switch may also be used with other specialized REO blasting machines.
This TEN-CIRCUIT power distribution switch is designed for blasting in underground metal and other mines where separate room and pillar operations occur, as well as separated mulit-bench operations. Law enforcement and military demolition experts will appreciate its usefulness for multi-target use by providing selection of up to ten separate targets using a single manual switch. The rugged water resistant enclosure, heavy duty cable connector and heavy duty terminals provide years of service. The power distribution switch contains no batteries or other type of power source.
The PDS450-10 Power Distribution Switch and applicable REO Blasting Machine may be used with standard commercial and military detonators. For igniters, shock tube starters and other special devices, consult the factory for your application.

Ten separate circuits (targets) can be manually selected, one at a time, for remote firing.
Uses standard REO accessories for connecting the detonators to the power distribution switch.
Heavy duty terminals provide easy connection to the blasting machine.
Safety yellow is easy to see by equipment operators.
Easy to follow instructions provided on the unit.
Passive. No batteries or other power source.
Rugged water and corrosion resistant ABS plastic case.
Environmentally sealed to operate in most weather.
This equipment must be operated in accordance with US Federal health and safety standards, state lows, rules and other applicable statutory provisions. Properly trained and skilled personnel must determine suitability and safety factors of tech blast.
The power distribution switch shall not be connected to the blasting machine until the circuit wiring has been verified by approved testers, the blast is ready to be fired and area safety is assured.
One of the REO blasting machines listed above, a TB15 Terminal Board and an EC15 Series Extension Cable are required to use the PDS450-10 Power Distribution Switch. The extension cable is used to connect the terminal board to the power distribution switch.
Before wiring any electric detonators in the circuits, secure the blasting machine. Set the BLASTING CIRCUIT switch on the PDS450-10 Power Distribution Switch to the OFF position. Connect the terminal board to the power distribution switch using the extension cable. Wire the electric detonators to the terminal board.
Remove all personnel to a safe location. Check the resistance of each blasting circuit at the BLASTING MACHINE terminals on the power distribution switch using a BO199.9-1 or BO1999-1 Blaster's Ohmmeter, or other approved tester. Disconnect the ohmmeter and connect the blasting machine to the BLASTING MACHINE terminals on the power distribution switch. Set the BLASTING CIRCUIT switch to the circuit to be detonated. Charge and fire the blasting machine. Repeat the procedure for the remaining blasting circuits.
CAUTION: WITH THIS MACHINE, AS WITH ALL BLASTING EQUIPMENT, STANDARD SAFETY RULES SHOULD BE FOLLOWED WHICH INCLUDE THESE: KEEP BLAST AREA CLEAR OF UNAUTHORIZED PERSONNEL, KEEP BODY AND HANDS AWAY FROM CONDUCTORS AND USE ONLY APPROVED TEST EQUIPMENT.
Passive design (no batteries or other power source) to reduce risk of accidental detonation.
Case is sealed against moisture and dust, and is shock resistant.
Detonator circuits are shunted until selected for firing.
